2019 EDI Endurance Season Wrap Up

TAMPA, FL - The Event Development Institute (EDI) recently completed a two month stretch which saw the team plan and host three endurance events, including the MBA 5K Run on the Firestone Grand Prix Track on March 8, the Veterans Alternative Copperhead 5K on March 17 and the seventh Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon on April 13. Addtionally, the team was also excited to collaborate with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to organize and host the Bucs Jr. Field Day at the Advent Health Training Center.

EDI ramped things up at the MBA 5K Run on the Firestone Grand Prix Track. The event featured over 1,100 participants for the second year in a row and was highlighted by a record-setting donation to the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg of over $70,000. Check out a video recap from the evening.

One week later, EDI helped kickoff Valspar Championship weekend with the Veterans Alternative Copperhead 5K on March 17. The event saw a record-setting amount of participants (657) run the famous Copperhead Course, including former Tampa Bay Buccaneer, Ronde Barber.

Finally, the endurance season wrapped with the seventh annual Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon. Held at Adventure Island, over 300 kids (ages 6-14) were provided the opportunity to swim, bike and run around the Busch Gardens’ water park. Check out a full recap of the triathlon below.

EDI continued to help impact the local community by assisting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Jr. Bucs Field Day. In total, 600 students from across Hillsborough and Pinellas counties converged on One Buc Place to participate in multiple football-focused activities. The day was highlighted by the appearance and involvement of multiple Bucs' players.
